Good news for newbies wanting to get a bit of extra experience. Although does mean the bar for demos to gain the attention of an employer.

isnt nintendo doing something similar for indie developers on connect24?? and also, didnt sony try this ages ago on the playstation 1 or 2?? this will be very cool for uni courses group projects if the lecturer’s / uni’s can be convinced of helping out.

Back in ps1 days i think sony had the yaroze ps1 kit which allowed people to dick about with coding for the console. Although these i think were expensive and rare.
Sony also released a ps2 which had linux installed on a hard-drive, although this wasent released over here i dont think.
But definately this should be encouraging for students who want to play around with the power of 360.
As for nintendo, the rumour was a wii dev kit was only going to be around $1000, so if i guess uni’s could get their hands on them for labs etc. Would make for some very interesting FYP’s!

yeah that would be cool. i would definitly think the wii dev kit would be more user friendly. i wonder who i would need to contact in nintendo to investigate this further?
