While in the UK I was speaking to TIGA, the independent game developers association.
They have just won a 3 year tender with Yorkshire Forward, a local regional and economic development agency. Their brief will be to work with a cluster of game companies and help develop their businesses through training and co-operation. Sounds interesting and I’ll be looking into it further…
They are also in discussion with the UK government about defining game development as RnD and getting tax credits for this.
They also spoke of some regional development agencies who had ‘demo development’ funds…
They seem pretty active over there in terms of supporting their industry.
More later,
