      Hey,

This is a Zombie painting I did in Photoshop recently, created just for fun & not for anything specific. I’ve been playing Dead Rising and reading The Walking Dead, so I’m a bit zombie mad these days :D
There is lots I’m not satisfied with about it, but am happy with it in a general way. Let me know what ya think!!!

      Cheers,
      Paul

Great work, Paul! Reminds me slightly of an old school teacher. I think it’s the hair and the shirt/tie. :D

Ya some really fine detail here, some real love went into this, love the texture on the skin and the little things like green veins.

Maybe you can give us a little more detail into your process etc.

Thanks for all the comments guy’s, much appreciated.

Subedei, my process is pretty basic, I use a mixture of hard and soft brushes of different sizes in photoshop. With the hard brush I block out areas of colour and with a soft brush with a slight opacity of about 60% I blend and shade areas of colours. All the veins etc.. were done with this method. The texture on the skin I uses a texture brush on a separate layer covering the area I wanted the effect on, and changed the layer opacity and blending options until it blended the way I wanted it to.

heres a GIF demonstrating the steps of creations from dodgey sketch to finished piece, hope this helps:

Thanks alot Max, I see from the gif you dont block out the colors generally first and then move into add detail but just start completing one section first, ie the head and then block out the rest and add detail as you go, its a rather natural method, was very interesting to see the technique and hear of the brushes you use, cheers.
