Differences?

Can anyone tell me whats the difference between an environment artist and a level designer? I know its probably a stupid question.

Hi Duggan, a level designer develops and creates interesting areas for the player to explore. They will normally get a level to a blocked out stage.

An environmental artist is a visual artist who puts the aestethics of the level on to the designers geometry. This can involve asset creation in another program like Maya or 3ds Max.
