Wasn’t Heavenly Sword meant to be in there too? That’s actually the first game I’ve heard of/seen on the console (outside the major releases) that I’ve really liked the look of. :?

last clips i saw of HS was the same level they’ve been showing for ages. Also they seem to be actively seeking game designers so something tells me its a while yet.

Who actually wants to buy one?
Sony are just trying to win a pissing contest with MS "My hardware is bigger than yours".
It isn’t about making good innovative games anymore but about making the biggest most powerful and expensive piece of crap they can. They then market this to fanboys and certain hardcore gamers who are some of the biggest meatheads out there considering they think adding more polygons and weapons to be innovation in video games.
Every aspiring game designer or programmer seems to want to make a First Person Shooter but none of them cop on that the FPS is basically the same game mechanic over and over again. Point at something and kill it. It’s just space invaders done different.

I agree, how dare those money grabbing studios constantly release games that bear so many similarities. It’s not right. We need original games. I mean, sure plenty of peole enjoy FPS’s, but screw them, we want original games. Who cares if people are willing to part with there hard earned cash to play a mindless kill fest; they don’t deserve our respect, the cavemen, because we want original games.

Are you being serious or sarcastic?
Anyway, that was kinda ranty. What I meant was we just see too much of the same thing over and over. I do enjoy generic First Person Shooters too and, yeah, they make $$$, but are we trying to progress the industry or make the same crap over and over all the time? Genre’s are important, but we need to develop genres so they don’t stagnate.
I guess what I mean is that fancy hardware is nice, provided it is used to enhance gameplay and creativeity. If fancy hardware is used to push out more polygons, store more data or make "physics" in a hover bike game more "accurate", it just takes away from the gameplay experience.
