For anyone that doesn’t know, there’s a series of books released about every 12 months called the "Game Programming Gems" (GPG).
These books (phone-book size) are a collection of short papers with code, written by (IMO) pretty high-calibre industry vets (Steve Rabin, etc.).
Anyway, google books has the first 40 pages of GPG1, available. Good read, and recommend it (and the subsequent 6 follow-up books) to any programmer or student out there.
