The second CreativeD event will be held from 10am – 1pm on Wednesday 18th November at the new City Walls Venue in the Dublin City Council offices on Wood Quay (entrance via Fishamble Street).

The theme for the event is “Meet You Future Financier”, which will open up the dialogue between the creative industries and those providing finance to the sector. The purpose of the event is to:

· achieve mutual understanding of the needs and priorities of creative industries and potential funders

· provide creative businesses with an understanding of the different types of funding available to them

· inform members how best to access these funding streams.

The event will bring together key financiers for SMEs and innovative projects in the form of AIB (Head of Business and Personal Credit), Ulster Bank (Head of Business Development – Corporate), Bank of Ireland (Manager, St. Stephen’s Green), Venture Capitalist (James Casey) Business Angels and AIB’s Seed Capital Fund (Dublin BIC), and will also provide CreativeD members with information on potential financing schemes such as the Business Expansion Scheme (BES) and Innovation Vouchers.

A case study will be provided by Paddy Dunning of the Wax Museum, who has successfully managed to receive funding for a creative endeavour in the prevailing economic climate.

The event will consist of a Q & A session between the members and financiers, which will be followed by Discussion Groups at which issues raised can be explored in more depth with the financiers.
