InactiveHI folks just though that I’d post up a little piece that I’m working on.
its the helmet off a sci-fi character i’m working on.
It has reference taken from everywhere, from starwars, doom3, hellboy and half life.I just want to see what people think of it so far…

InactiveVery nice work. It’s amazing how far you can take normal mapping when you do it right.
Perhaps Dave will use it to bring some of his models down to 3,000,000 polys. :p

InactiveVery nice model indeed, really like the design, retro yet futuristic.
God bless normal mapping for all your game design needs. -

InactiveDunno what’s up with my computer/connection…..I can’t see any picture.
Hey Ronny, I’ve done a low poly Hoff! So there!
Although, having said that, I’m also working on a new mech and have just finished the upper leg and its already 76,000 polys…… ;)Plus, I haven’t got Max 7, so can’t use normal mapping yet…. :(
For the source code for the thread, the image it is loading for me is called “blockpage.gif”……..must be something to do with my company firewall or something.

InactiveGreat work man, I havent gotten into normal mapping yet myself so I can’t say much there but I think your models looking nicer in the grey scale render than with the textures applied. I think its just a matter of working a bit more into your diffuse map and enhancing that ‘metally feel’
Anyway great work and have you got any more stuff online, I’d love to see it!

InactiveThanks for emailing me the pic Ronny, a bargain at 200 smackers!
Very nice work Max, excellent modeling. :)Cheers for the links Pete, will definitely look into them. Heck, I may even normal map the Hoff, he deserves no less for his magnificant contributions to the entertainment industry.

InactiveYou robbed my name Mr Paul Conway, if thats is your real name, I was tempted to challenge you to a duel for the rights to the name but I just went with max marshall instead.(it was a lot easier and less dangerous)
keeganb I don’t have my online portfolio up and running at the moment but will have in about one/two months. Your own site is very cool.
