“After months of rumours, Acclaim has shut down all it’s studios and filed for Bankruptchy. Rather than the predicted chapter 11 , a process which allows companies in financial trouble time to restructure, Acclaim has requested the final chapter 7, liqudation.”
Sigh…..another one bites the dust, and I was so found of Acclaim back in the early 90’s, afterall the brought Mortal Kombat into my arms.

I think we discussed this here a while back. It is a real shame though. A friend of mine had just landed a work placement with them… so much for that.
Have they sold the the Mortal Kombat licence yet? I’m interested to see who picks that up and what direction they’ll take it in. With all the available licences floating around the fall of Acclaim could well be the rise of other companies.

I’ve two mates in different branches of Acclaim in the UK and I heard that Acclaim are reforming as Exclaim or something like that, They’ve gotten some new funding or something? As far as i know they really done one over on their staff, told them on payday that they where not getting a cent, now they want them to come back and they won’t be getting that month they worked for? Bad off really

the proposed rescue plan for th UK Acclaim staff is being implemented by the UK management and NOT byt the parent US company… so not paying them their back pay is not an issue – two different companies

My point was more along the lines of good luck to them trying to get all their disgruntalled staff back who havent been payed. I can see I’ve typed that out a bit badly! :)

My mate worked in Acclaim Manchester – yeah they are owned money.
