Nice, but his jaw looks just a little too square, maybe if you lift the edges up a bit?

I was kinda aiming for a really severe look to the model almost bordering on evil, its modelled from a model kit I have lying around on my pc. just trying to be faithfull as I can to it but ile try tweek it and see what i can come up with I suppose. :)
I might try soften it by lifting the cowel edge just onto the chin to seperate them abit and see how she goes from there.

easy onthe meshsmoothing, concentrate more on perfecting the shape of the underlynig model before adding lots of smoothing also use smoothing groups so that evrything isnt uniformly smoothed

Fixed afew more areas and seperated the smoothing groups so the chin looks more organic instead of looking too smooth.

you should really start modelling low poly and lose the meshsmooth or turbosmooth. you’ll get a better understanding of what game models are like and edge loops, deformation, texturing proceedures etc.

Took your adice and reworked some areas without mesh smooth.
Looks abit crisper now need to fix the neck abit but sofar im really pleased with what ive got cuse it just really a showcase model Im doing to see how far I can push the detail I can do.

Ok heres the newest update…
The emblem on his chest isnt a texture or modelled part its just a shadow being cast onto it so I can get an idea of what kinda logo im gonna give him, this looks good but I might arch the wings in abit more to make it look more gothic and menacing like Batman himself.

Ok latest update.
Ive modelled the basic details on the belt area and added pouches which have these button flaps on them, Didint want to go to hi tech cuse it sorta cleans the whole image of batman up too much, hes alot more interesting when he has more primitive tools to work with, also tends to be alot more sadistic for some reason lol

Ok, another update. Sorry bout the lack of them yesterday, got a HD tv in the house and havent been able to pry my eyes away from it and am ashamed to say I did NO work on this yesterday.
The updates are just the start of the leg areas, more to the point the crotch area, I have to model this area right cuse I always have problems with legs and feet with models so Im taking my time with this area as I want to get this part of the mesh right as itll be one of the best parts on it.
Now, Ive tweaked some areas of the model just to suit my own personal taste most noticeably the torso area to make it more muscular, I added a hint of the first Batman costume with keaton in it its not much but its there just as my own personal addition to it its more implied than in your face. The logo I just swiped from the batman begins film as its simple but effective and its the only one I tought would fit the kinda expression on his face. Only thing is the colours on the model with be black, grey, and golden yellow with pure white for the eyes and maybe a hint of dark grey along some areas to define it alittle more. Ile try add maybe a tone or two more or even redeign the logo so it has the classic yellow backing on it just to add more variety but If it pans ut well the way it is Ile keep it that way.

Ok heres another update, Ive added some portions of the leg and almost finished the crotch area, well the basics of it anyways plus very slightly heightened the ears on his head a little bit. Also added abit more bulk to the belt pouches and fixed a mesh error on the buttons of the puches which was naggin at me really. Overall its coming along good, was slightly hung over today after a mad night last night and am paying in spades for it today so Im amazed I could get this amount done today lol

I think you will get a huge improvement in the visualisation when you get his eyes right – for ol’ Bats, his eyes are one of his most distinctive areas ( as well as the chest logo, and ears of course ).

Thanks for that mal really appreciate it, ive afew areas especially on the leg/crotch area ive to work on and define them alittle more but Im well pleased sofar with what I have. Sorry bout the updates not being put up today. to be honest I was out job hunting, and just by chance I was at a showcase for a mate of mine in the uci in tallaght where hes trying to set up a film school. I did the logo design and animation for him and was I was approached for freelance work and maybe to teach alittle on the side to people about 3d max and what not so hopefully my portfolio will be accepted and i get it lol. Heres hoping anyways. fingers legs toes and ankles crossed :)

Heres another update, was working on the legs for a little while today was preety tired so decided to get some rest. Was out handing c.v’s out to get myself a new job and hopefully I will be teaching 3d max preety soon. Noting fancy at first but ile muster all I can from the students, IF I GET THE JOB that is. hopefully I do cuse I love 3d modelling a great deal I mean at first when I started using max I tought id never be able to do this, but just through sheer trial and error ive gotten myself this bit further and damn proud of it to be honest to knowing what the hell Im doing. hehehehe.

Another update, I updated alot on the leg areas and fixed up alot of the messy areas on the crotch area. The legs are finally taking shape lol. Just have to model the uber bitch which are the knees and boots, wont be that bad I hope lol :)

Heres another update, Im back in work 2moro :( SUXXXX
I updated alot on the head and tweaked the ears a tiny amount added abit more depth to the head and a tad more bulk to it. Also added the cape which I took an approach of making it look like an actual bats wing hence why it looks like it has organics and muscles in it, the top of the cape has what looks like tou know the claws that a bat uses t hang upside down, well I kinda used that to attach it to the actual head piece or cowl. so heres afew renders let me know what ye all think. :)

Ok heres another update, Im just getting some textures ready to get an idea of what im going to use. So this model is just a test version I use for the textures so I know what ile be doing when I finally texture it. Still have modelling to do on him but tought Id whip something up instead of sit around lol

ok some more updates.
Ive modelled the legs and toned some areas so they look more proportionate, however I am going to have to re-scale the cape as it looks too small now. I think I might slightly oversize the cape just to add more grit to the model and see how it fares out.

Ok, Ive made some changes to the facial area namely the mouth area, I tought it needed more definition as it looked alittle too plain so I added more lines into the mesh to get the effect of muscle and just make him more closer to the reference in general which im working from. He looks way more angry thats for sure lol

his feet are abit big thats cuse Im just modelling them still and want to scale em down abit then tweak and refine them abit more. Other than that ive the hands and the remanants of the legs to model thats it really.
Might add a gargoyle base over looking a citry or something just for effect, Im thinking that would be a cool way to go.
