He was my pick from aaaaaaages ago and I though he was brillant in American Psycho (‘Your compliment was sufficent’)[/quote:bc02c4a833]
Meh! He wasn’t a patch on Patrick Bateman from the book…not even anywhere near close.

InactiveBetter than DiCaprio would have been!
The film as a whole wasn’t as good as the book – not his fault.

InactiveNah I can’t see Bale being a good Bruce Wayne, he does look the part in the cape though. Has there ever been a better celluloid Caped Crusader than Michael Keaton in Burton’s masterpiece?

You mean, he wasn’t a patch on your idea of Bateman from reading the book. ;)
I thought he played the part excellently with a script that was chopped around a bit in order to make a film that worked, and that would be allowed to be released!
As for him as Wayne, its perfect casting. Keaton as Wayne was far too eccentric and even childlike, their wasn’t even a hint of his darker side when he was playing Wayne. I think Bale will be perfect for this role and portraying Wayne’s deep psychological problems, which is what Batman is all about.
In my opinion this new take on Batman has a good chance of wiping the floor with the Burton films(lets not even mention the tripe that was release afterwards). Everything from the excellent director(Nolen), proven scriptwriter(Goyer, in regards to comic movies), and the amazing cast, means that for me, it would take an almighty **** up in order to make this a bad movie. -

InactiveYa but noopitcal, Batman isn’t troubled as you say, well depending on what iteration of the comic books you are refering too, or even T.V. Batman the “Dark Knight”, which began sometime around 1992 I think, is when DC started throwing around ideas that Mr Wayne might have that “darker side”, Previous to this and especially in the hit 70’s T.V show Batman was just a normal guy in a cape, but anyway Bale is suited to the part, plus his has the “chissled jaw” thing going for him which is bound to get the ladies into the demographic.

InactiveDid anyone read that thing about the Orson Welles version of Batman which he was contemplating making. That would have been something if it was made…..

“The real treat for me was the casting notes and confirmation letters from the actors themselves such as George Raft signing up for Two-Face (after Bogart turned it down), James Cagney as The Riddler, Basil Rathbone as The Joker and Welles’ former lover Marlene Dietrich as a very exotic Catwoman…”

InactiveAlways been a fan of Batman despite the movies and games that have hardly been triple a. A little sceptical about the latest ‘extreme’ version but I must admit I’m also quite excited! Look forward to its release.
Indian Spiderman looks very cool! Thanks for that.
