Has Anyone used the car paint material in the mental ray renderer options. I have applied it to my model but I cant apply a decal to it. everytime I add anything to it the paint just goes a bright luminous colour and looks crap.
Has anyone come across this or anyway to sort it out.
Assuming you’re using max here. instead of trying to integrate a decal to the overall material, select the faces on you model that you want to apply the decal too and detach them. apply a push modifier with a low value to eliminate z fighting, then apply your texture to this new geometry, controlling transparency with an alpha channel or opacity map in a new material.
