This might be of interest to some smaller game devs on the list…

      Anyone going to this?

It would be good to find out what are the major trends etc.

It’s a good show. I went along with several other PopCap staff two years ago. An excellent ‘meet and greet’ type of affair. Much like ECTS or E3 except for casual games. It’s a great way to get an insight into the casual games industry with company heads discussing everything from schedules to development to the financials, aswell as reports on emerging casual markets. I got to meet companies from as far a field as China and the Middle East. I remember in particular one Middle Eastern rep talking about how nomadic shepherds all had satellite uplinks and mobile phones and how they would be excellent candidates for a mobile phone games marketing campaign (in fact it’s one of the only ways to get games sold in the Middle East due to it’s near 100% piracy problem). Interesting stuff.
