The tones in the first one are bang on in my opinion. Perhaps a little hue/adjustment on the second one?

Also I think you’d be best off joining DeviantArt to get critiques and that on your digital art. I haven’t been on this site long myself but I don’t think this is what it’s really for.

      So it’s http://www.deviantart.com

      best of luck!

Cheers man for taking the time to give feedback, always welcome. Second one is a bit off alright as a friend mine said looks too digital

Cheers for the heads up man, used Deviantart years ago, kind of waste of time imo. I always get the best C&C here. There is no where else I have found with a community so ready to offer their opinions and feedback, from artists to non artists as here.

      PS I love u guys ;(

I like the first one too. I would probably try to avoid making the shadows grey. Also add some highlights on the hair. Also some variation of colors for the skin like a subtle and lightly desaturated green for areas where the veins are and subtle and lightly desaturated orange for areas like the tip of the nose and cheeks and the edge of the ears.

As for the second one, I think it lacks proper shadows and highlights that would help to make the painting come out.

I am sure that if you play with shadows and subtle highlights for both of them, you will get decent results.

But overall the first one seems to be promising.

      Hope this helps.

Sure does Kevin. Some very useful advice I will have a go at trying out, thanks
