EA made more than double the revenues from mobile games than it did from PlayStation 3 in the third quarter this year!!!
Can’t say mobile isnt a good business to be in.
In fact mobile revs just about equaled ps3 and psp figures combined!Full quaterly report.

Taking the cost/benefit approach to this factoid, in the context of the likely/habitual respective development costs for the 2 platforms, that really doesn’t sound too good for Sony = can’t see EA ever dropping the PS3 platform, but then can’t see them upping the game dev budgets on the PS3 platform either.
The year-on-year figures for PS2 & PSP also make for interesting viewing: quite the "ouch", methinks.
All the same, maybe the quarterly report incl. the year ended Dec 31, 2007 *incorporating that most fabulous of lineups at the moment, and the Xmas b00m* may show quite the turnaround.
