InactiveNice!
Square have always been the reference in Japanese CG cutscenes and animation. Is there any release date for Advent Children?

InactiveI’ve always loved the FF series. After the movie version I’m a little concerned about this, but it seems to be looking okay so far. Personally I’d rather level Cloud, Tifa, etc just be good memories. I’m not over the moon about the appearance of the characters. The great thing about such low detail characters was that you could envision them as YOU wanted.

InactiveLooks fantastic, Square really know there stuff with regards to CG. But I’m not expecting too much on the story end of things……
Hopefully I will be proved wrong though…. -

Telling a story in a videogame is a completely differant challenge to telling a story in a movie.
Unless the movie involves a band of heroes crossing terrain when some monsters suddenly appear out of nowhere and then they all take turns hitting eachother. ;)Ok, I’m joking, but the point remains that they are completely differant. Just look at The Spirits Within, how pants was that story???? The fact is when you are actively involved in the story, as you are in a videogame it is far easier to keeps peoples attention then when people are sitting watching a movie.
For example:
How many times have you watched a friend play a game, even if it is a very good game, and gotten bored?Exactly….. ;)

InactiveI wasn’t implying that they are similar. I was stating that Square can tell a good tale, And as for Spirits Within being “pants”…well I disagree. I enjoyed the story with great pleasure, such was the tripe ruling the Cinema screens at the time. As ever though it’s a matter of opnion. So I do see where your point is coming from, regardless.

Inactivei thought the problem with the spirits within was the crap voice overs/acting, Maybe it wasnt the actors fault though. Good story, some bad characters though

Alec Baldwin, Donald Sutherland, and many other great talents. Bad voice acting? I think not…

InactiveThe story was appalling, anyone without an interest in games/CG/compositing or a techy field would think it was shite. I went with the girlfriend to see it in the cinema and she still hasn’t forgiven me.
