InactiveNWIFHE has just had 9 people pass its HNC Interactive Computer Entertainment. As far as I’m aware these are the first nine graduates trained in Ireland.
(I’m one of them by the way)

InactiveThey are indeed the first 9 graduates trained in Ireland (not counting the more specialised disciplines, such as LUDO and the animation courses in Ballyfermot)
It’s also the first course to use Torc’s Instinct Engine as an educational platform

InactiveTorc’s engine is really great to learn on. The course had a right few teething problems, as you would expect, but it’s given me a great base knowledge in everything.
The modules were really well balanced. Hopefully this course kick starts the gaming industry in the North west.

InactiveCongratulations to the nine that passed! Well done, Gizmo. :)
A course along these lines has been something I’ve been considering since my return from Torc. The ole English Degree versus a specific course.. both have there advantages towards what I aspire to do so a lot more thinking is to be done.

InactiveI’m doing a STEP program through NORIBIC at the minute and my host company’s torc, though I’m based up at the NWIFHE.
Myself and the other guy from “the 9” were down at torc for a wee tour yesterday.
Really is a nice set-up they have down there, I hope this incubation center up at NWIFHE is as good looking as that. :D

Inactiveit’s all a bit up in the air at the minute, we’re all hoping to get on this incubation centre first and foremost to get some decent experience. But hopefully down the road at some point there’ll be a company outta this.

Inactive7 of 9 eh, fair play to anyone who has the oppertunity to go to England(or Scotland for that matter), I know I wouldn’t pass on the oppertunity, hmmm maybe after HND in ballyfermot.
This “Instinct Engine” sounds interesting, if a little odd. Whats it capable of at the moment?

The Instinct Engine is a revolutionary machine, created using the DNA of Hoff, that will render mankind obsolete. Meh, what is it capable of… ;) -
