I find those ‘Hundred Best…’ shows absolutely frustrating. Where do their figures come from? Pundits? Journalists? The public?
OK Computer my eye.

I agree, it is a very good album.
My point, however, is that people have short awareness spans of popular culture.
There is also the question of what constitutes ‘greatness’ in a subjective area like taste? Technical ability? Cultural impact? Record sales? Impact on following bands?
I would imagine that ‘Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band’,
‘Pet Sounds’, ‘Revolver’, ‘Kind of Blue’ and ‘The Doors’ (to name 5 examples off the top of my head) all fulfilled these criteria more than ‘OK Computer’. -

To put it in some kind of perspective, Rolling Stone magazine ranks ‘OK Computer’ at number 162.

As an amusing aside, one of my more self-interested colleagues saw me looking at the Rolling Stone list , and without invitation, proceeded to inform me, in traditional schoolyard ‘Got / Need’ fashion, which of those albums he owned. I left my desk at No. 125.
Sometimes I feel I am living in Ricky Gervais’ wonderful sit-com.

6th OASIS – Definitely Maybe what a pile of shite and blur only album is parklife at 36!
when this poll was last made ok Computer (i think it was way down in th 30/40s) was only out 2 years, its aged well, for me its my most listen to album in my life

These polls are usually a pile of rubbish and I never watch them, I made the mistake once and left the lving room utterly frustrated (read: pissed off).
Looking at the list though it seems C3 have outdone themselves yet again…
14 – COLDPLAY – Parachutes
16 – ALANIS MORISSETTE – Jagged Little Pill
18 – THE VERVE – Urban Hymnsplus the likes of Dido and The Strokes in there…pure…unadulterated…rubbish…
Plus even though I still have a soft spot for Oasis, two of their albums in the Top 20 is a joke.
Also, now I may be abit biased, but did you ever notice that theres never one metal album in those charts? (Black Sabbath excluded of course)

There’s Something About Mary was on so obviously I didn’t bother to watch yet another ‘complete definitive top 100’ show. The only part I caught was Black Sabbath. Can’t find it in me to respect them after a certain television show featuring the singer.

Before I met Dave I had all sorts of horrible images of what he looks like with a name like Skyclad. ;) -

Anyway, everyone knows the best album ever is “Ten” by Pearl Jam. Followed closely by “Looking for Freedom” by David Hasselhoff.

From Spiral Dance
Being Skyclad…establishes a closeness and honesty among coveners and is a sign that a witches loyalty is to the truth before any ideology or any comforting illusions.[/quote:c3b4977984]Why, what did you expect me to look like?
