I read an article in the Official Dreamcast Magazine about a girl who narrowly missed a serious accident after avoiding an oncoming car by quickly turning onto the wrong side of the road, a technique she’d picked up by playing video games.
We’ve also had surveys and research that report racing games can aid your driving ability and help you learn to drive quicker than the average student. I say both views are nonsense.
A survey will also prove what it wants to prove.. but that’s a story for another day.
I think Dave Perry got it right in the article – but contrary to what he said, that the paricularly imaginative gamer/driver will have their emotions affected by something they played an hour ago. And it would be the same for films, or a good gig, or whatever gets you going.
I cycled home the first time I saw the matrix, and I was still speeding :P
