KeymasterI am back now so no talking behind my back..(day of meetings)
bemoaning that no-one listens to me – I see I got another nomination…- it is a wasted vote folks…
decisions on winners will be made by me and Nicky Grogan – who will be the independent outsider who makes sure my biases are not obvious!!
winners in each category were obvious but the late rush of votes is hotting things up…

InactiveFolks,
just wanted to thank you all for the nominations… and the award, of course. I’ve won a few awards over the years but I can honestly say the GD awards are the ones that mean most to me, coming as they do from my peers
For those of you who didn’t make the birthday bash, it was a great night… you missed out, folks.
Great to finally meet Boadle and Nooptical who seemed to spend most of the evening teaching peple how to pronounce his handle correctly… not to mention joining Dancin’ Dave and Jivin’ John as GD groovesters

InactiveCongratulations to you organisers, and to attendees of course, for making this gala night what I understand from the posts was a particularly memorable one!
I am very, very sorry that I missed out, but my wife and child were just not well enough (pleurosy for one and gastro’ for the other :( ) for me to leave them last Friday night – I’d had to leave work early that day to go home & care…
And I now feel gutted, really, since I have just noticed that I have been ‘awarded’ – my sincere and heartfelt thanks to all who nominated me / voted for me / otherwise influenced the judges in my favour – looks like there’s a round on at the next shindig, provided you lot don’t ask for a belated acceptance speech.
Anyhow – great to hear of developments at BitRabbit (those publishers eh, Bomberman – nudge/wink ;) ) and the Irish pride in the development community to shine shortly via Torc’s calender events.
To all, old hands and newbies alike – good show and well done.

InactiveTony announced that Torc are currently expanding, hiring etc, but was not able to say where the new office is or what they would be doing (other than an fps style game using the instinct engine one presumes).

They announced that they would be making announcements, but at this time those future announcements could not be further elaborated upon. ;)
But it did sound like it would be exciting! I for one am really looking forward to seeing Dreadnought…..

InactiveOh yeah, forgot about that. I think Tony mentioned something about a possible new office/studio, not necessarily in the specific region of Muff, but around the general Muff area…..so to speak.

InactiveDreadnought (AMD 64 bit tech demo) will be released at WinHEC in Seattle on April 22nd. Shortly after that both 32 and 64 bit versions will be made available for download
We’re working on our first original IP and hiring both on the middleware and games side of things. Should be setting up a new office soon, which won’t be too far from the existing offices
…and that’s all I can say for now
