Hey everyone, i’m a student in Dcu and i’v built the helix in cinema 4d, but i need a game engine to just run a simple walkthrough. I’v downloaded torque and some free engines but i don’t have a clue how to use them. Can someone pleas help me, this is my final year project and it’s due on the 23rd! Thanks.

      Hi podge,

If you’re projects focus ( and marking ) is relating to the 3D modelling / texturing of your work, then you can do a "drive through" of the building using this ( export as Shockwave 3D using Cinema4D )

      http://www.candointeractive.com/gamedesign/car

Just drop a box where you want the player to start ( and sized / scaled accordingly ), call it carStart, and export.

If you need to program your walkthrough as well, then this won’t help unless you know how to program in Director, and use this tool to see if Shockwave 3D can handle your scene.

      Hey Mal,

Thanks a million for your help. I was trying it out there but when i edit your level in c4d and then export it as BasicLevel.w3d the "Play 3d car level" just opens up the old one again. Any hints? P.s. yeah it’s only the modeling etc that would be marked, so i’d reference your app if i used it.
      thanks again,
      Podge.

      Hi Podge,

If you overwrite the gamelevel.w3d file in the main scene ( not BasicLevel.w3d ), then the main app should use that 3D scene, and you should be able to drive around it.

Let me know if it works OK!

You could also try the game engine that Blender has, but best to focus on one method at a time.
