[ NB: this news relates to the wider IGDA organisation and not just the Ireland chapter ]

      Board of Directors Nominations
      —————————–
We would like to invite you to submit nominations for the IGDA board of directors. The next election will be held at the GDC and in the two weeks following, and we are filling two open board seats. Nominations are due Tuesday, March 9th.

The game industry is still developing both as a business and an art form. Influencing the industry’s growth in positive directions requires leadership. If you care about making games and feel you could serve the IGDA, we strongly encourage you to contact us about your candidacy immediately. If you know someone you feel would contribute well, please contact that person now and encourage him or her to run for an IGDA board seat.

Please review the complete details on the election and submission process:

I second that! I hope there are no skeletons in your cupboard Tony, your opponents will be starting the dirty tricks campaign as soon as you decide to run!!!

      Hi Mark & Pete,

      appreciate the vote of confidence!

I think there’s quite a lot of value in what you’re saying, Mark – and I’ll certainly raise it with the chapter organising here for their feedback.

Personally, I think I’d find it a bit of a stretch just now due to other commitments – but perhaps one of the others may not.

Assuming I’m still involved in the local chapter organising committee next year (and I certainly hope to be), I’d definitely consider it.

Re: Pete’s dire warning – obviously my lips are sealed, Pete!! I may want to run in the Burnfoot/Muff bye-election one day and I wouldn’t want ‘I-was-young-and-I-needed-the-money’ type revelations to come back and bite me!
