      Great news!

So the Irish government ARE finally taking games seriously … lets see if they cough up some film-style tax breaks now!

      Cheers for the update!

Very good news, there certainly has been more awareness to games in the past two years, while most of it is on the service / support side it’s still good to see such things.

I have a friend in Japan who does research and analysis into the Japanese Markets in Tokyo. He was asking if I knew of an Irish company that was trying to get into Japan as he had hear "Ireland" + "Games" come up a bit around the office. It would appear now that it was Gala looking for research on foreign markets and how to expand.

My No.1 on this wish list would be strong managers/producers who understand the industry and what it takes to stay afloat and grow.

Pandemic in Brisbane has been axed and at least 1 other Australian development house is in trouble. Free Radical goes under and countless other companies are cutting their numbers in the UK and US. I would appear that studios with good track records are being effected by this, so clearly there are other issues.

It’s probably a good time to take stock and look at how the industry can evolve.
