InactiveI have both Halo and Halo 2 Soundtracks. Bungie always had really good music for their games. Myth the fallen lords was excellent (for its day)

InactiveThe best game soundtrack i’ve heard in ages is the Chaos Theory soundtrack by Amon Tobin. Absabloodybrilliant!
i hate this mentality thats growing within the industry- that if a game has live orchestra that its a great soundtrack. They nearly all sound the same- though maybe thats because the same 3 or 4 composers seem to be scoring ALL the games!
The main goal has drifted from a creative and unique soundtrack to, get your man, record with the EasternBloc Symphonic and sound like hans zimmer!
I think we need a game music sex pistols!

Inactivehaha- now only if i new a local composer, Hmmmm……….let me think!
Danny Elfman got paid $300,000 (exluding production costs) to co-write (with Russel Shaw) a 4 minute title screen piece for fable, and its not a particularly outstanding piece. Even his film work is now Danny elfman trying to sound like the old danny elfman. The spider-man soundtrack aint a patch on batman.

Inactivetrue, i think elfman is now doing “desparate housewives” soundtrack, not the work i reckon he wants, but its dosh i guess..
i remember seeing a behind the scenes of back to the future (on the dvd boxset) and an interview with Robert Zemeckis about the movie.
And he said that back when they made the first one it was cheap, low bugdet limited everything; special effects, actors etc. but he said that in order to make this movie work it needed a killer tune “alan silvestri” famous piece. And it was true that music more than made up for the cost-cutting and made that movie a hit(ppl still remember the tune even if they dont remember the movie). Consequently, they got a nice fat budget for BTTF 2 and 3 which were great movies also.

InactiveHrm off the top of my head I think the soundtrack to Homeworld is one of my faves. It was just so immersive and really added to the game. They bundled it along with the Cataclysm expansion pack if i remember correctly…
