      Hey,

I’m looking to get a budget – midrange laptop (400 – 650 euro) as a portable Windows machine for development (.NET, C++, XNA, maybe DirectX/OpenGL although I’ve a PC for that). I want to free up my MBP for just recording and music from now on by getting rid of my Parallels / XP install. Plus the battery life is almost non-existent as I’ve had it for almost 5 years now.

My head’s melted looking at komplett (maybe it’s post-Christmas but they seem to have a poor stock), pixmania and dabs. Are matte screens a thing of the past?!

Post-Christmas sales are bound to be a lousy time to be looking but I’d be grateful for any recommendations either for a brand/model or somewhere doing good deals.

      Thanks :)

      Samsung Q530 Core i3-350M 4GB RAM – 500GB HDD – 15.6" – Windows 7 Home Premium 64 Bit Laptop

Need to update my book as well, and this is the likely candidate. Gets a good rating, with the only criticism being the native screen resolution (1366 x 768).

Nvidia 330m gets good feedback also.

Very tempting, although it works out at approx. 718 euro which is a bit over my budget…I’m sure I could convince myself to stretch the extra 70 quid!

I have a Samsung laptop working well so far, however I would suggest a Sony Vaio.

BTW I came across these guys whenever I was looking for cheap printer ink cartridges,
