Haha, aw poor Ronny! Nope they’re a Celtic Doom Metal band, havnt heard much of their stuff but they’ve been going for a good while afaik. Not really my kind of metal tbh, I prefer mine a little more upbeat….

Aah, I see. The video showed a few long-haired middle-aged men who work as IT managers trying to play music while wearing laughable paint and little else. I’m sure you can see how I thought they were joking!

I would have voted for them. Better than most of the tripe on those shows anyway!

Glad I’m not the only one. It’s funny how English and American television are nearly identical, yet Irish TV is in a world of its own! -

Surely Coronation Street is about as off topic as we want to go :) Lets go back to talking about Folk Metal bands. I liked that part of the thread :)

Could this possible turn into a metal thread?
I have a great March coming up – Trivium, Avenged Sevenfold, Dragonforce and In Flames, all one week after another sw00t! :D

Anyone going to see Shane Ward?

not until he has more than one song!

In Flames are meant to be fantastic live, their new album is also excellent so I’m sure there’ll be a nice combination of their brilliant old material and Come Clarity. Support is Sepultura which should be entertaining anyway although the moshpit certainly wouldnt be good for your health during them… :D

More off-topic, but has anyone listened to the Arctic Monkeys new album?
Downloaded it last night on iTunes and listened to it on the bus this morning, and really liked it. Which is strange, as it usually takes more than one listen for me to like an album. Highly recommended.

I’ve only listened to the single and can tell they’re not for me tbh. I liked how they distributed their songs over the net before they released the album, VERY good idea tbh…

You sad barstard.

07/02/2006 at 4:23 pm #29432AnonymousInactive
Not a fan are you not? Meh, personally I think they’re fantastic, they have more energy than any band I’ve seen in years, not to mention one of the best new guitarists I’ve seen in bloody ages. Only downside is that I’m completly unable to do any sort of coding while listening to them, its just too insane! :D
Check out their new video for Through The Fire And The Flames here.

Well ok they aren’t that bad, maybe I should go see them live, they are better that that extreme dirge crap. It’s just admitting you liked them in public might annoy some people who wear Pantera t-shirts all the time and think they are hard becaus ethey skate (Who are the most annoying species of Ape on the planet). TBH I liked the one song I heard for it’s energy, but as far as songwriting goes they suck. Besides Motorhead will always be the best band.
EDIT – Of course then I can’t say much because I like 3 Inches Of Blood.

Woah! Did you just compare Pantera fans to Skaters?
Dragonforce’s songwriting is VERY Power Metal, hell just look at the analysis of their lyrics on their Wiki page…here. :D
Hah, love Deadly Sinners, I’d love to see them live tbh, I’d say it would be insane! :D

Yes, believe me they are all wusses too. I like Pantera, but I don’t like the whole “Me listen to Pantera, make I hard, me hit you now!” mentality and I do know Pantera fans who are also skaters, scary world eh. They don’t like me because I’m a programmer. Ok enough ranting

[/quote:67142dea0b]Actually just after listening to that track (the vid was too slow) I’ll decide to like Dragonfore.

Yeah, I tried to get their album for ages. Hell, I even tried to get in in Seattle. Thinking as Vancouver is pretty nearby they might actually have a fan base there, but no luck. :(
-
07/02/2006 at 7:38 pm #29440AnonymousInactive
Heh, I’ve never seen them tbh. The only Pantera fans I know are proper metal fans and the only skaters I know are either H.I.M, CKY or some other bullshit metal band. Hrm, all the metal fans I know don’t care where you work or what you do as long as you like the music tbh, its odd that they give a toss you’re a programmer!
Yea the video took ages to load. Its getting heavy rotation on SCUZZ and MTV2 for some reason though so you might be able to check it out there.
Ah yes, see THATS why I <3 my credit card and in this case, <3 amazon! :D
