There is a new loud person who has decided that having no information about a subject shouldn’t stop you forming incredibly, painfully stupid opinions on it.

Kevin McCullough has recently written an article (if you can apply the term to what he has posted) stating that the video game Mass Effect is, and I quote, "virtual orgasmic rape".

He somehow seems to have gotten the idea that Mass Effect is a 3D online rape simulation game, where you can customize your own character and the character you are raping.

      Here, enjoy some choice quotes:

"And because of the digital chip age in which we live – "Mass Effect" can be customized to sodomize whatever, whoever, however, the game player wishes."

"One can custom design the shape, form, bodies, race, hair style, breast size of the images they wish to "engage" and then watch in crystal clear, LCD, 54 inch screen, HD clarity as the video game "persons" hump in every form, format, multiple, gender-oriented possibility they can think of."

Here is the link to the article.

You know, I was going to click on the link…but I really couldn’t be bothered.

UK gov was looking banned knives in games based on partial information on what was in Manhunt… I’ve about given up listening to these people now.

Eventually you just get tired of this sort of thing. I read the "article" and it didn’t make me angry or indignant. It didn’t even make me laugh which good old jack was always good for. It’s just more inane waffle that will have absolutely no impact at all.

Worst case scenario and some country finally goes ahead with a half backed scheme, the economic consequences will force them to change their minds if they ever get that far. I can’t see any country wanting to black list such a lucrative industry.

I doubt even best buy would be willing to drop game’s should a harsher government rating be implemented, there is just too much money to lose.

Plus, outlawing a form of expression opens the door to banning music, or good old fashoned book burnings. I love how some people can function perfectly well in the world despite living several hundred years in the past.
