I have new questions to ask of you all, firstly can you get in the games industry as a scenario writer and secondly what do the companies want in qualifcations in a games tester?

You would probably find it hard to enter directly in as a Scenario Writer without any particular experience. Especially any commercial experience.
Tester on the other hand would be far easier, just a matter of luck. Good application, Good Interview and a Good Attitude. Truth be known I have never applied for a test position so I cant give you accurate details, but I have seen enough applicants to know who are good and who are bad ;)

You should be able to sign up as a beta tester pretty easy. Loads of games to sign up for, in particular look for MMORPGs, the new ones are always looking for LOTS of testers. Don’t expect to be paid, its experience and you can do it in your own home in your own time. Looks good on CV.

Lots of companies have in-house testers. Try apply direct, can’t imagine you need any experience other than knowing how to play games.
Or do QA / localisation stuff from Vivendi or MS in Dublin. -

Hey guys just thought you’d like to know that I’ve applied for QA Tester at Vivendi Universal and it’s looking likely that they’ll call me for an interview (excited noise).

or if you want the job;
I suppose just be eager and humble, there are alot of nerds there already and no-one likes Mr Arrogant :p
You’ll have to do a general computer knowledge test that is fairly easy.
