Its a Russian film (even the effects) , first of a Trilogy and its out here in October.
If this is the one I think it is, I remember seeing a news report about it breaking all box office records there.

yeah saw a behind the scenes on talking movie on the beeb a while back. definately looks cool.

There is a game in development too. Not actually following the film but based in that universe.
