We have great news, Pirate Legends from Super Hippo has been featured all around the world by Apple. In particular it’s got amazing top banner placement in the US, CAN, AUS, GER and lots of other huge markets. We nearly had a major canary with Plants Vs Zombies 2 releasing the same day, but things worked out OK in the end.

This is a really big step for the Irish games industry and we’re totally chuffed. :D

Congrats! Did you guys not realize PV2 was coming out on the same day? Or did you know and just go "ah feck it"!?

That’s fantastic news by all accounts, well done.

Did you guys do anything in paticular to get featured. How did the process go if you don’t mind me asking.

      Thanks :)

We had no idea what day PvZ2 would be out and when we found out (the day before) it was way too late to delay. Luckily it was free and we were paid so users didn’t have to make a choice and Apple have space for a few games in the banners.

To get featured you really need to get a good intermediary, if you’re an indie. There are a few very good PR companies that will help you if they believe the project has legs. We used TriplePoint but Appular are also very good. I don’t think there’s any one thing that can guarantee to get you featured, you just need a bit of luck and Zombies, Pirates, Birds or Ninjas in the game
