      Hello I was wondering if anyone has any links to good sites selling stock animated sprites for games ? I’m looking for pretty high quality stuff which can be purchased and licensed.

      I’ve googled myself but not returned much. In particular i’m looking for a ninja and samurai character. :wink: Seems to be a real lack of these resources out there at the moment though.. :(

      Any ideas ?

      Eh why not commission a pixel artist.
      Sounds like something Paul might be interested in.

      That’s a good idea, thanks for the input. I never considered that possibility but it might be better because we can get stuff to order that fits better with the rest of the artwork.

      Not what you are looking for exactly, but here is a list of sprite resources;

      Possibly not what you looking for either – but (shameless plug) you can export the animations from meez.com as transparent filmstrips that you could embed into games e.g.

      The style of the Meez characters are very cool – much better than the current look of Googles Lively avatars ( http://www.lively.com ).

      Thanks for the replies guys !

      That ninja does look pretty cool; it’s a shame it doesn’t quite fit with the rest of the stuff though. The style we’re after is sort of more sketchy / hand drawn looking than cartoonish with colors that aren’t too saturated. Hard to explain really but here’s a piece to give you an idea:
