I got a mail through gd.ie re the following and was wondering if people had any suggestions. This could be an interesting work experience project although maybe a company who was interested in alternative interfaces might be also interested in it.
‘My son X is 14 and attends the Central Remedial Clinic school. He has always been interested in transport/ cars & driving as all boys are! As he has a physical disability it is very difficult for him to experience this. Playstation is a great way for him to feel he is virtually driving & moving at speed. He has recently came up with an idea to design a game based in Dublin involving many different modes of transport. As he feels this would be of great interest to younger boys particularly those with limited mobility, if would you be able to give us any assistance or advice on how to go about this it would be much appreciater.’
I have their contact details if people want to get in touch directly but maybe people have ideas they want to throw out here too or point to similar projects elsewhere…
