Dont Dis SONY, they really came through with the Getaway, I mean it looks exactly like the PR shots prior to the release of the PS2. And the Dreamcast is poo
Actaully took out all my DC games at the weekend and for the most part I really couldnt see how the PS2 was superior.

Thats what I mean, Sony just want to be able to talk about how powerfull the CELL chip is, whether its of any use to the PS3 is beside the point for them…I believe they call it effective marketing… :lol:

I just love that they are calling Xbox 2….. Xbox 360 because they feel people phycologically see PS 3 as being better because …well… its the third of something therefore it must be better…

Hype like this always does the rounds before a “next gen E3”. I can still remember all the crap being said before Xbox and PS2 were unveiled…..
I can’t see any chance in hell of the PS2 being three times faster than Xbox 360, that just doesn’t happen. Unless Sony have some new magical technology or are willing to put a price point of 1000 bucks on the new system. -

:wink:The cell chips are interesting. Is a factor of 3 completely incredible at this point? (I imagine you could argue a lot of things – measuring performance across different architectures…)
It’s true new consoles are always overhyped.
At the same time the cell stuff is quite different, and there have been a lot of resources put into making it work.Anyone looked into this in detail?

Well, I’d be MS or Sony, I’d be careful with the hype as they’re both (PS3/XB360) going to be banned in China again… and it wouldn’t do to alienate a market of that size, now that there’s disposable income there :wink:

Seems to have a rollerball in the middle of the controller too. And they’ve moved the start and back buttons to be on either side of it rather than off to the side. -
Yep thats the camera add-on that MS had been touting awhile back, its all going to be connected to the Live! service but only time will tell whether people will shell out for it or not…

no sign of the black and white buttons either, is there?

Haven’t seen a shot that shows the full controller. Reckon they’re on it to the side, can’t see them jsut dropping 2 buttons completely.
