Wasn’t one of the ‘Driver’ games set in Rio? Maybe it would make for a good game setting if you don’t fall through the Brazilian streets and then reappear twenty feet down the road. :wink:EDIT: Or was that Havana? I think it may have been… could have been both.
I have exams right through January, so I couldn’t make it to a shindig this month. If we set something up for February then I’d definitely be interested in going.

InactiveAre ye having a January Shindig or something (LAN Party, D&D Nerd Session etc)?

InactiveThink its either the pub or nothing, Skyclad tried to get interest in a LAN party before and I dont think it took off the ground

InactiveWell we at the DCU Games Soc will be holding a LAN event in a few weeks and assuming we can get the college to agree to it being intervarsity I’m sure some of you guys can come along to.

I gues I still have my student card from WIT  . Still it is over 4 years old so they might get suspicious!
Ok sure, pub is good. If anyone want to go for a few after work or college in next few weeks that would be cool. Then again I’m kinda sick of drinking at the moment after Friday.

InactiveHeh, well if well get permission for an Intervarsity event then it wouldnt be a problem for some of you guys to come along if ye wanted. All you’d have to worry about is getting your ass kicked by students who have nothing better to do all day than hone their skills on Q3 and CS. :D

InactiveCome to think about it.. I think I may be a member of the Trinity games society. I’m not sure too sure what it was, but we had to sign up to something to get into the Lionhead talks! I have no idea how popular gaming is among students in Dublin. It could be a good idea to set up a Dublin intervarsity society so there’s more people involved. That is if the universities agree to it.
How about the 3rd of Febuary for our January shindig?

If so which wild and wonderful metropolitan experience shall we indulge in this time?
Or shall it be Mahaffy’s again? Whats their policy on goats?

Would Friday the 10th suit people better?
Toners on Baggot St or Mahaffeys on Pearse St are the 2 traditional venues to choose from.

Like, 7 days too late :)
Since I wont be in town, my bias is clear:
tomorrow I come down, for Dublins good cheer. And I know its toff-tastic, (no not hoff – toff) but can I vote for the porterhouse templebar? Mahaffy’s is truly a splendid place, but slendour can apply to negative as well as positive attributes, after all

@1st suggestion – will most definitely do, the earliest the date is secured the better.
Can’t make Friday (‘morro’) as I’m off to UK for long week-end, then pedal-to-metal at least until third week in Feb’ (if I’m not in Far East for proceedings for another 3 weeks by then  )… and you thought we suit types had it cushy
@2nd – woohoo, lookitmeee!!! a ‘tad squished, but fame at last! I couldn’t have picked a better garment to compliment my fabulous good looks when on public display
How was Brazil? Tell me all at the next shindig (‘next’ being, operatively, the next one I can make, obviously enough  )

Didnt realise so many people had made plans to be there :) Tomorrow it is then :)I do like the porterhouse on a quiet evening, but its not good for quiet gamery conversations and finding seats at 8pm on a Friday evening…thouhg if Sliotar are playing, you’ll probably losse me for the evening there anyway :)

InactiveThe aussie bar beside the cinema never looks that busy – Sheepshaggers or something its called…never really been there on a friday though. Never really been there at all. Why did I mention it?
Ok, the upstairs in the Thing Mote (Suffolk St) is good…but they changed the name of that place, so the upstairs in ‘whatever its called now’…

InactiveThat thing mote is always freezing, always!! even in the middle of summer. I think the “sheep shagging” place beside the cinema is a sports bar so the question is whether or not there’s any sports on friday to get a crowd in there.
Think, think, think. What about that O’Neills place that we went to one time? The place Kyotokid couldn’t find, hmm its already sounding good.
