I love Sega Rally! It’s one of the few franchise’s that hasn’t gone down the crapper by Sega[/quote:8f3fde6025]

Revo was good and technically i think its still one of the best racers on the market. Development cycle was tight and the game changed a bit from concept (but every game does this to a certain degree, focus tests etc contribute).

The arcade version gave us the freedom to really tailor the game to the platform and to focus entirely on gameplay and getting it to run at a sweet 60fps.

Just coz I’m new here and nosey… Don’t answer these if you don’t want to! What area of this project were you involved with? How long were you working on this project for? And finally, what kind of experience/skills allowed you to land this job?

      Cheers!

I was with the studio from almost the beginning to the end (aprox 2.75 years). During SEGA Rally i wrote alot of core technology systems; save systems\input system\force feedback\debug\multi-thread systems etc, various high level game play features, various ui features etc. On the arcade version specifically i specialised alot with hlsl shader effects for ui\hud and in game effects. Also did alot of FF effects for the steering in the arcade as well as cabinet specific interface code. Did shit loads more but I cant remember ;) SRS was great for experience with the hard stuff.

Experience I had to land the job: 1.1 CS degree and masters in AI specialising in game theory and AI (from U.C.C.). Also had alot of experience with C\C++, Java and a few script languages.
