I’m keeping my eyes peeled and my ears close to the ground (what a sight! ), having missed the June one.

ah now, you don’t need me there!
But i am back mid august and will be dying to hear about the heatwave – I am off to snow in New Zealand this weekend :)
Aphra.

I was just about to post asking about our next shindig. Sometime in August would be good to give time to rally support. So what Friday works best?
Aphra, this heatwave is slowly killing us all. After days of blistering heat, it rained for the first time in ages last night. I just had to go out and enjoy it. Now I have a cold. You just can’t win.

I don’t care when it is, but does it have to be in Dublin? :D
-
21/07/2006 at 1:16 pm #32680AnonymousInactive
Can you suggest a place more central to all who might want to attend?
Dave
-
21/07/2006 at 1:20 pm #32681AnonymousInactive
Port Loaise or Athlone is right in the middle of the country. :P j/k
But seriously though? Why Dublin all the time? Most people only go to Dublin to work becuase there are no good jobs anywhere else. Why not some other city like Cork or Galway or something?
-
21/07/2006 at 1:27 pm #32682AnonymousInactive
Cos the shidigs are hap-hazzard at best. The fun is who will happen to get off work and show up. Plus most people have places to stay in Dublin, one way or another.
-
21/07/2006 at 1:36 pm #32683AnonymousInactive
Yeah okay, probably just ranting there in “I hate Dublin” mode.
I’ll try and make it to the next one.

 -
21/07/2006 at 2:34 pm #32688AnonymousInactive

Oh yeah it’s not Ireland either.

Em quick question, someone was talking about an MMO at the shindig where you pay to advance up levels or something to that extent. I was wondering what it was? Think it’s still in development but I can’t really remember…My memory isn’t as good as it used to be :P
-
05/09/2006 at 11:09 am #33366AnonymousInactive
think that was Nifty who was talking about it

Second Life? The MMO with the real world economy? Sounds abit crazy if you ask me… :? -
05/09/2006 at 5:03 pm #33377AnonymousInactive
Is that not the MMO with adult content….
-
05/09/2006 at 5:26 pm #33379AnonymousInactive
Not too sure, I’ve only heard the name being used in relation to the economy. Looking at it it looks like a “real life” MMO Sims.. :?
-
05/09/2006 at 5:46 pm #33380AnonymousInactive
Is that not the MMO with adult content….[/quote:f6b949a805]some realms in Second Life may have adult-only content, but think you are thinking of another game (know the one you are thinking of, but can’t remember the title)
Anyway, wasn’t Second Life we were talking about. Nifty – Enlighten us!!

14 hours left in the country and I’m here posting about MMO……
Ah well, the game is still in development, but I believe is in Beta by now. Last title I heard was Pax Britannica.
Roman Britain with a pricing structure thats supports both pay once, play forever (like guild wars) and pay more get more (second life).
Now if you’ll excuse me, I’m inexcusably sober for my last night on Irish soil.
I’ll be in the Mercantile on Dame St. if anyone is looking for a drink and to play some board games
-
05/09/2006 at 6:53 pm #33383AnonymousInactive
All I can remember is that PC Zone used to be always taking the micky out of it…
-
06/09/2006 at 9:05 am #33392AnonymousInactive
I know Sociolotron is all adult orientated….I think!! But there are a few that are like that to the best of my knowledge!!
