      Hi all,

Anyone know where i can get a list of the top 10 international game development companies for 2004, by their share of the market or the number of games they released in that year?

      Much appreciated!!

game developer did this last year except it was inorder of publishers i think.http://www.gdmag.com/homepage.htm (back issues). (2003-2004)

This months edition does top publishers this year, so its probably really for 2004-2005.

gives you a good idea of who to pitch too :)

new edition is digitially available for about 4 bucks

Pretty sure a booklet came out a few months ago with Develop with the top 100 developers. Could have been back at xmas. Pretty sure I threw it out…

would be interesting to see how they define ‘top’ and how they break them down between inhouse and independents..

Yup, EA topped the list. The booklet was bundled with MCV…contained the “Develop 100”.
If you email Develop ( website: http://www.develop.co.uk ) they should be able to send you the details.

An article I found about it….

[/quote:639c3d99b9]the booklet had Top 10 developers in the world based on their UK sales only in 2004 only. Some interesting reading but not definitive

I wish they wouldn’t keep changing the eval criteria each yeatr though – makes the year-on-year comparison next to worthless <grumble, grumble>
