Hi all. I’m a Youth Worker, working with young people, some of whom are big into gaming. Does any of ye know of a games development/design house that would be willing to let me and one of the clients visit, on a once off basis, to see the workings etc? It would be great if you could let me know as I’m not up to speed on all the companies at this type of work in Ireland at present.
      Thanks in advance..

we have a list of companies on the website – see top menu..what part of the country are you in?

Also every year DIT run a game design weekend workshop with ERnest Adams which is a fun way to see how game design works…it is usually in Nov.

Finally, the Tipperary Fleadh in March is also a good way to see what kinds of games and projects student gamers can develop…watch out for news on this site of that event next March

Aphra: D’oh should have read the website regarding the list of companies!
I’m in the West, but as it’ll be a once off visit, we can travel.
Also, I will keep an eye out for the events you mentioned below.

not all the companies are in that list but it is a start.

EA has a community support branch near Galway, otherwise you might look to Limerick…

also that DIT event is aimed at secondary school students…the Tipp Fleadh is for secondary and college age kids..depends on the age of your group
