InactiveAs mentioned else-where, this conference is on in the near future. I was looking at the webiste and I have to admit I was very disappointed. It looks like they put so little effort into it. I also don’t understand why they’ve upped the prices this year and stretched it out to 3 days when it was shorter and cheaper last year.

Keymastermm, but I hear there are some good speakers :)
this is only the second one and I know they have very few staff working on it so I guess they are outsourcing a lot..

Oh i agree. I just think that if I were to find that website and look at it, it wouldn’t inspire me with confidence in the event based on the look of the website. Its purely text and not even nicely sized.
I heard Abertay were going to use internal student art to help promote it ( and would have got it for free ) and in the end did that competition instead.I don’t see how they’re going to stretch it to 3 days though and I heard that one of the days is almost like a promotion of the uni, which is a bit strange.

InactiveFunny you brought this up – I posted on the ‘official’ forum of the women in games yesterday.
Hope there is a good turn out (oh and hot women – hey I’m single)

Keymasterwell it turns out there were a few Oirish women over at WIGS – met Jade from NWIFE who teaches 3D Studio Max on the games course, met Caroline who heads up SilverTongue, a team in the Dare competition and met Aoife who was in Ballyfermot on the Ludo course and has done three year of the Abertay games course. Also met Jenny Brown, university relations manager with EA in Chertsey, who is from Hollywood in NI.
I’ll post a news piece on it later on.
Good craic and cocktails!
