The UN were involved in a game called ‘Food Force’ which is about managing food rationing and resources…going to play it later to see what it is like but if you want to check it out go here..

Ian actually did a few political games around the last election so maybe he did the one you are thinking about….and he has done one on social issues…where the players tries to balance out paying for education, environment, the military etc…
at least as short downloadable web games they are interesting..

As far as I know colleges try to assert full rights over any projects developed using their equipment or while one is enroled as a student…this is pretty common practice although it has been possible for some to negotiate joint exploitation rights afterwards. Usually tho the college will want a cut of any attempt to exploit..
Wasn’t this how and why Havok was formed? A uni research group and a PhD project…which as far as I know…and this could be urban myth…wasn’t submitted so they could keep full rights…
Unis are very bullish about this type of stuff…

cool…so as far as I can see there are enough people able to make Friday the 22nd in Mahaffey’s pub in Dublin…if it is a really nice evening maybe we could have one or two beverages sitting outside the Pav bar in Trinity College (less than ten minutes away) and then move onto Mahaffy’s…
Dave can you check if Mahaffey’s are ok with us landing in that evening and don’t have any other events planned…? You just might be passing :)

that need not exclude others meeting on the 1st or elsewhere in ireland it just happens that most of my trips to dublin are around flights out of dublin.
I like the idea of a shindig elsewhere and would like to encourage people to self-organsie such events. Unfortunately just at the moment my schedule doesn’t really allow me to do so….hopefully that will all change come September!
