have you tried the Nerve Centre in Derry. They used to have a pretty good multimedia crew..

It is pretty hard for graduates to get work experience in the games industry so if you guys are only 16 then that is much tougher..I would certainly broaden your search beyond games companies to IT and multimedia companies given where you live and I guess the fact that you won’t be able to travel far.

if you are into the more creative side of things look at the creative northern ireland website for ideas about companies.. http://www.creativeni.com/

settle. You could always attend Women in Games just to see that women do work in the industry and experience a female dominated game conference!

hope to have awards this year..sorting venue is the first task though..

sorry, still trying to confirm venue on this.

date will either be first week of april..i.e. before Easter or last week of April, in the evening and probably a Friday so trying for either the 7th or the 28th..the 14th might be good with people travelling but the venues might not be so keen.

If people have suggestions for speakers on the night feel free to make them. I think having three speakers – two from companies and one indie/student worked well last year but I am open to suggestions and volunteers :)

nice to know the academics can come up with acronyms too! the land of IT and games is hardly innocent of the acronymn thing, now is it.

CFP is Call for Papers…! Standard call put out by conference organisers..

keep those bios coming for the academic and research skills area…definitely have to get at least one person from each of the colleges involved in game courses..and if people are doing basic or applied research in a company that counts too..
