you have to think about sharing the funding costs between different agencies and making it convenient for people from other parts of the country. By moving it we spread the load and make it easier for a range of people to attend. Don’t forget we have new courses now in Tralee, Limerick and modules in DIT as well as the up and running Carlow course.
As for getting lost – have you ever tried to drive from Dublin to L/Derry? I’ve got lost a few times on my first few trips up North on those roads. Not so bad now I’ve lived for a year nearby.

Aphra KKeymasterthe idea guys is to alternate north and south every two years .. you won’t have to wait that long for it to be up North again..

Aphra KKeymasterthat has to be decided but we haven’t ruled out the digital hub either as they have access to the old Media Lab Europe offices..well should have until the new research centre is set up… and that includes full audio set up, catering facilities etc.

Aphra KKeymasterThis looks like a useful map of game related courses around the world. Interesting to note there are no flags for Ireland yet so relevant lecturers etc. might like to add themselves.

Aphra KKeymasteryes the IGDA committee decided to alternate awakenings north and south to share the travelling and last time some of the speakers couldn’t make it to derry given other committments and the number of flights in and out of derry.
The IGDA committee were meant to have a meeting in December but that got moved to January so we should have more info after that. But at the moment it looks like funding is in place and that it will take place in Dublin and it will be in 2007. That is all I know at the moment. Exact timing will depend on venue and speaker availability.

I think there are lots of places along Wicklow street for food and I guess there is always Wagamama if the others are very busy.
see you guys later for some christmas cheer!!

Aphra KKeymastergreat..thanks…I’ve been through all the news and features but just want to make sure I don’t miss other stuff.. can’t keep track of you all
and Kyotokid me thinks you are trying to avoid the shindigs, not get to them! :)
Aphra.
Aphra KKeymasterwill meet you all in the pub, Mahaffys I presume?, after…
Aphra.
Aphra KKeymastergosh yes the gaa game…must not forget that..
if the trend in people continues we might need a gd.uk url!
Aphra.
Aphra KKeymastermaybe we can see who can offer people who have to travel to the shindig beds to stay overnight in Dublin rather than pay massive prices to get home. Staying in a hotel would be cheaper than that fitch! Unfortunately I have someone staying over that night already – anyone got a spare bed or couch to offer?
