Just to add – it has been interesting working with Darryl and some others in computing in UU coming as I do from a soft science perspective ..we’ve had a lot of interesting discussions about how to reduce social complexity into something computers can actually do…

..it would be interesting to find out why.. is it the process, is it the timing of the slection process (clashes with projects/ exams etc.), it is the time committment over the summer??

Aphra KKeymasterwe’ve just posted an overview of the Carlow IT degree in games course under resources – a bit late I know..sorry about that..but it was also previewed in a feature last year.
should be useful for those who are want an overview…and want to compare courses..
people from Carlow – please let us know if the course has deviated from this plan..

Aphra KKeymasterwell as you know the IDA/DCU official announcement was made the Tues after the shindig and as far as I know management are in the process of moving over to live etc..
as far as recruiting goes I don’t know any more…will let you know as soon as I do tho..I think they will recruit experienced staff from anywhere, Ireland or abroad..

Aphra KKeymasterIt looks like the Letterkenny IT Computer Games Development degree will be going ahead this autumn – subject to final revisions..
so that means that Tralee It, Dundalk IT and Letterkenny IT will all be launching degree courses in comptuer game programming this coming Autumn..lots of choice for upcoming students…it will be interesting to see the variations and specialisms that all decide to emphasise..
