    hi Paul,

I am afraid given present resources our features are only updated once a month, usually at the beginning of the month.

If we secure more funding and get more journalists and writers from the community involved I guess we could move to more regular features..

Some of you might be interested in listening to Future Tense tonight, Tuesday, at 7.30pm on RTE Radio 1.

    They will be discussing

    downloading music…

the TunA project has developed a new piece of software that will allow you to wirelessly connect to the music a nearby user may be listening to. Developed by Media Lab Europe, the research partner to MIT Media Lab, TunA uses Wi-Fi to find nearby users and is being designed for mobile phones and various wireless devices.

    and animation

they will be talking to Brown Bag’s Cathal Gaffney and Gollum’s animator Richie Gaffney, amongst others.

Hey Carley, look what you started!

well actually this is just resurrecting a conversation we’ve already had which is about reorgansing or adding new forums to the boards.

seems like we could look at adding a new topic like creative discussions to the game development section or we could add another topic to the general topics.

I also think maybe we should take some of the information from resources and either have a topic on this or move it off forums to the resources section of the website…

so it seems our rule of thumb might be….popularity in terms of posts/views and generality/longivety..

    ok by me..

    Dave..Ronny..John…?

well any of the administrators can make a thread sticky or conversely make it unstuck.

It really only arises on the general forum. My rule of thumb is that particularly interesting and general threads should be stuck. Also threads which have a lot of views seem candidates to be stuck.

We admins, haven’t all agreed yet on a particular rule as such so one of us unstuck some of the threads today….not wishing to name names…(!)

threads can be restuck if people think they should be, I have no problem with that.

we could also move creative discussions elsewhere on the site..

or we could look at creating an archive..although I think creative discussions is not quite reading to be archived…

yes game design can be added…

I still hope we can find some legal brains in this town who can assist game companies and there are a few journalists who could add their names to the list of journalists…so I don’t think we will get rid of that category just yet!

    thanks for the feedback..

I was just going to try and merge MCI’s posts with the Nokia N-gage one…anyway, no harm done, just seemed to merge with an older thread and not the one intended…

and yes it seems you can’t move individual mails..
