Aphra KKeymaster
I think we will have to alternate last thurs and last friday of the months so we can get most people to come…unless a Sat. night is a compromise?
Aphra.
Aphra KKeymasterI was there and met quite a few Irish people…see under shindigs…the insertcredit article is pretty accurate ..the football session was a laugh as was the evening entertainment. The earlier sessions were somewhat uneven with quite a bit of discussion about film but less self-promotion than at many of these type of events..

Aphra KKeymasterhow about last Thurs of the month..in the same venue as before?
Aphra.
Aphra KKeymasterthat place was pretty dark and the cocktails pretty strong…! I was looking out for you guys but forgot my glasses so I guess that might have been the problem..! I was up in the university all the previous Friday but spent most of the day in meetings with people – including Jim T and I. Marshall.

Aphra KKeymasterWell nice to see so many Irish people over at the Edinburgh International Games Festival last Monday. I never thought an Irish accent would come in so useful but it seems all you have to do is stand around talking to another Irish person and suddenly you are in the middle of an Irish group.
Met Ian Kiigan from Denki in Dundee, Damien Gallagher from Torc in Donegal and a couple of people from the North West Institute who are setting up a games course. Anne O’Reilly from Enterprise Ireland in Glasgow was also there, as were some of the Dare to be Digital teams from Abertay university.
As a result we made our presence felt in the football quiz and I would say damaged a few of the cocktails being served later on that night..
great to see you all and see you were all aware of gamedevelopers.ie

Aphra KKeymasterMyself and two colleagues here in DCU, Roddy Flynn and Pat Brereton have received some research money from DCU to start a project on users of new media – including DVDs, online games and off line console games…
Roddy has lost no time in signing up for the Star Wars online game…I’ll be examining a few new console games in detail so if you have any suggestions of interesting games with really innovative features let me know…
all in the name of science!

Aphra KKeymasterin fact I know one company who has been through the DIT incubation programme so that is a great idea…watch the feature space!

Aphra KKeymasterShane,
not one of your students but since this is becoming your personal thread (!) just to let you know I did read your research proposal and I have some ideas and comments. Have you signed up for it yet and would the comments still be useful?
Let me know…

Aphra KKeymasterwell the Bridgewater jobs are with a company looking to relocate from the UK to Ireland, the Cork jobs I don’t think are connected – but maybe we should ask the people in Selatra in Cork – they might know..
Aphra.
Aphra KKeymasteryea I think we should have one in September…so let us know if there are any major conferences or events we should try to avoid clashing with!
Aphra.
