I’ll just be back from the states that morning and God knows what time I’ll be on internally (lose most of a day), but now that I’m a Dublin 2 man the pub is only a few minutes crawl from my apartment so I should be there too in some shape or form.

Well Bungie have it right, they’re building anticipation into fever pitch and nobody knows anything about the game outside of the video of the first(?) level that they showed of the invasion of Zanzibar, which is a year and a half old and looks amazing. The multiplayer plays well and the energy sword is great, I got pulled off out of the gunner seat of the warthog which was pretty cool, and stuff like fixed gun emplacements and destructible walls all made it really cool. It’s Halo still, but the multi-layer level was cool, it lead to some pretty brutal firefights in corridors. Can’t wait for the retail version to hit, the week it comes out will be a sick time methinks >:)

sad isn’t it? But yes, I can understand that if it’s going to be a wrestling game, it’s much nicer to stare at scantily clad digital ladies then watch and control pumped up grease monkeys (WWE wrestlers)

Just remember to watch it with those obvious white headphones, a lot of people getting them nicked because they’re so obvious :)

I got a chance to play Fable for about half an hour a fortnight ago, looks pretty good and handles very well, the combat is bloody hard at times (you have to run away I was told but I battled through nonetheless), but as for the more elusive features, they take time to come out.

Glad you enjoyed it Ivan, nice to meet you at last and I was shocked to think that you thought you’d get a tacky prize, that little crystal piece is something to be proud of :)

Right, I just rang to confirm it, and they won’t be able to open up downstairs because they’re stuck for staff, but I’ve asked them to reserve a table or two in the main bar for us. I’ve said 7pm so that’s when I’m aiming to be there, so if a few others can aim to make it in early to get these tables it would be appreciated. See you all tomorrow.

Ian, I’ll need to talk to you tomorrow if you’re attending so find me if you’re coming. Cheers

    Right, done.

Toner’s is booked for 7pm onwards on Saturday 14th of August, downstairs. They said they might be a bit short of staff to open the bar downstairs, but I’d imagine they’ll have them for the Saturday night.

I’ll do it, if you can give me a time and a date, I’ll try but if it’s this week it might be hard given the late notice, but I’ll try.
