Hi Aphra,
I’ll be there a little after 8, so I’ll give you a buzz when I’m outside
I’ll be bringing some print outs of the survey with me, so anyone who hasn’t done it so far that would do it tonight would be greatly appreciated
Jamie McKeymasterWell hopefully the basic information will provide what skills are missing here in Ireland. I’ll be leaving this open for another couple of months though, so hopefully the word will get around to have enough of a sample size to be able to give some good insights.
Cheers!
Jamie
Jamie McKeymasterThanks, any help is appreciated!
Jamie McKeymasterJust bumping this again
Jamie McKeymasterHi all,
Thanks for the first couple of responses, any help you could helping spread the word of the survey before the 31st october would be great. Especially interested in companies that have formed since February, or have taken on more people (ie gone from 2 to 5, or going from part-time to full time).

Cheers

Jamie McKeymasterLooks like fun, kinda a mix of lemmings and splosionman puzzle platformer.
Jamie McKeymasterThanks so far, I’ve gotten the first four, two of which weren’t included in the previous survey, so please help spread the word. I’d like to get as many in possible, especially from the smaller or brand new companies, and it’s also your chance to be listed in the rollcall and final report.
Jamie McKeymastersend me a pm if you want to swing by potatoland :)
Jamie McKeymasterThird year in a row this has happened, I don’t think it’ll ever get off the ground at this kind of scale, especially with the exhibition prices they were looking for.

PopCap announces review of Dublin operations
The ”Dublin office has not shut”, the spokesman said in a statement.
This follows concerns for 96 jobs at the company after the group laid off 50 workers in its US operations. The company employs 500 people worldwide.
”In the past year, we’ve seen a dramatic change in the way people play and pay for games," the company’s co founder John Vechey wrote in a blog to staff.
PopCap expects to end the year with roughly the same number of employees as at the start, after it "hired aggressively this past year," Vechey wrote in the blog.

Now I have some time to start going through the results properly, here are some early findings I can share.
So what platforms are people developing for?
Jamie McKeymasteraphra, do you think we could adapt the company profile so we can put links into jobs etc? kulpreet can help me put together a map of ireland using google maps, and we can pin the jobs to it, along with company information.
